Zemic BM3 Introduction
The Zemic BM3 is a stainless‑steel S‑type tension and compression load cell developed for a wide range of industrial weighing applications. Thanks to its compact yet robust design, this loadcell is capable of accurately measuring forces in both pulling and pushing directions, making it a highly universal solution among modern S-type load cells. The BM3 is hermetically sealed to IP68, ensuring reliable operation in harsh industrial environments. With OIML R60 C3 certification and a broad capacity range, the zemic BM3 is widely used in systems where stable tension loadcell and compression measurements are required.
Installation
Proper installation ensures accurate force measurement and long service life:
1- Install the load cell using appropriate eye bolts, rod ends, or fork joints according to the application.
2- Ensure that mounting points are aligned with the load axis to avoid bending moments.
3- Use only approved mounting accessories to allow free force transmission without side loading.
4- Tighten all threaded connections according to the torque values specified in the datasheet.
5- Make sure surrounding structures do not restrict the natural movement of the loadcell during operation.
Loading
To achieve optimal performance and accuracy:
1- Apply force along the central axis of the load cell, either in tension or compression, depending on the application.
2- Avoid sudden shock loads or dynamic impacts, even though the BM3 supports high safe and ultimate overload limits.
3- Ensure symmetrical loading when using the load cell in suspended or hybrid systems.
4- Gradually apply load during commissioning to allow mechanical components to settle.
5- Always perform zero adjustment and full calibration after installation.

Wiring
The Zemic BM3 is equipped with a shielded industrial cable and uses a standard 4‑wire connection:
- Red — Excitation (+)
- Black — Excitation (–)
- White — Signal (+)
- Green — Signal (–)
The polyurethane‑jacketed cable provides strong resistance to moisture and industrial interference. The cable shield is not connected to the element and should be grounded at the indicator side only.
