Zemic HM9B Introduction
The Zemic HM9B is a heavy‑duty dual shear beam load cell designed for high‑capacity industrial weighing applications. Manufactured from nickel‑plated alloy steel and fully sealed to IP68, this load cell offers high accuracy, long‑term stability, and strong resistance against harsh environmental conditions. With OIML R60 C3 approval and capacities up to 50 tons, the HM9B is a trusted zemic load cell solution for large‑scale weighing systems where reliability and consistent performance are critical. Optional current calibration (SC option) further simplifies system integration and commissioning.
Installation
Correct mechanical installation is essential for accurate and stable measurement:
1- Install the load cell on a rigid and level foundation using the recommended fixation bolts.
2- Ensure correct alignment of the dual shear beam body with the load‑receiving structure.
3- Use appropriate mounting assemblies (such as ball & cap or fixed mounts) to control horizontal movement and minimize parasitic forces.
4- In multi‑cell systems, all load cells must be mounted at the same height to ensure even load distribution.
5- Avoid welding currents, cable damage, or improper grounding during installation.
Loading
For optimal performance and long service life:
1- Introduce the load through the designated mechanical contact surfaces defined by the mounting system.
2- Avoid side forces, torsion, or sudden impact loading, even though the dual shear beam design offers high mechanical strength.
3- Respect the safe overload (150% FS) and ultimate overload limits (300% FS).
4- In dynamic systems such as vehicle weighing, ensure smooth load transfer across all load cells.
5- Perform zero setting and system calibration after installation and before final operation.

The Zemic HM9B is supplied with a shielded 4‑conductor industrial cable:

- Shield — Transparent (not connected to the element; ground at indicator side only)
The PVC cable jacket provides reliable protection in industrial environments. Standard cable length is 16m, with optional 12m and 20m lengths available.
