Flintec ULB Universal Load Cell

The Flintec ULB is a versatile and robust tension load cell offering an extremely wide range of capacities, from 100 kg up to 5,000 kg. Constructed from durable stainless steel (17-4 PH), the cell is environmentally sealed to IP67 using a reliable potting compound, making it an economic and sturdy choice for industrial applications. The ULB holds major trade approvals, including OIML C3 (for tension load only) and NTEP, establishing it as a highly accurate Flintec tension load cell solution for process plant and commercial weighing needs.

Installation

For the ULB tension load cell, correct installation involves using appropriate hardware (such as metric or unified threads) tailored to the capacity and application. Since this cell is primarily used in tension (suspended) applications, ensure that the connection points align perfectly along the load axis to prevent side forces or bending moments. The cell must be mounted securely, allowing the entire load to be transferred directly to the cell body. Although environmentally sealed to IP67, protect the load cell and cable from physical abrasion and excessive heat during and after installation.

Loading

The Flintec ULB is calibrated and certified for precise tension measurement, particularly in suspended setups. For accurate readings, the load must pull the cell directly along its axis. It features a high safe load limit (200% Emax) and an ultimate load limit of 300% Emax, providing substantial safety margins for applications like crane scales and hopper suspension. Ensure the measurement system accounts for the dynamic forces that may occur when loading or unloading suspended tanks.
