Zemic BM14D Installation
Proper installation is essential for safety and measurement accuracy, especially at high capacities:
1- Install the load cell on a solid concrete or steel foundation capable of supporting rated and overload forces.
2- Ensure that upper and lower mounting surfaces are clean, flat, and parallel to avoid side loads.
3- Use the recommended mounting configuration and follow dimensional specifications from the datasheet for correct force transmission.
4- In vehicle or hopper scale applications, mechanical limiters and lift‑off protection should be included to protect the loadcell.
5- Avoid welding or rigid fixation directly to the sensor body, as this can permanently damage the load cell.
Loading
To achieve reliable and repeatable performance:
1- Apply the load axially through the centerline of the load cell in either compression or tension, depending on the application.
2- Avoid eccentric loading, torsion, and lateral forces, which can reduce accuracy and service life.
3- Although the BM14D supports 150% safe overload and 300% ultimate overload, impact loads should always be minimized.
4- Gradual loading and unloading improve long‑term stability in vehicle and hopper weighing systems.
5- After mechanical installation, perform zero balancing and full system calibration under normal operating conditions.
